Drama as Senate screens 10 ministerial nominees (Full Drama)

e Lilnelly Mr Yinax  There were a series of dramatic moments on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday as 10 ministerial nominees appeared for screening. While some of the nominees were given special privileges to leave without answering questions, being former lawmakers, others were subjected to grilling. Those who have appeared so far for screening are Uchechukwu Ogah (Abia), Goodwill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom),  George Akume (Benue),  Ogbonnaya Onu (Ebonyi),  Emeka Nwajuaba (Imo), Olorunnimbe Mamora (Lagos), Olamilekan Adegbite (Ogun), Adamu Adamu, Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) and Sharon Ikeazor (Anambra). First to appear before the Senate was Uchechukwu Ogah, who threw his weight behind the official exchange rate of N305 to $1. He also called for the diversification of the economy, with emphasis on agriculture. FG Replies Obasanjo, Says His Comment On Boko Haram Is Divisive

The Federal Government has replied former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his comment on the activities of Boko Haram terrorist group describing his comment as divisive. According to the Federal Government, the comment by the former president is aimed at imputing ethnoreligious motive to Boko Haram and ISWAP and it is “deeply offensive and patently divisive.” This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. Two months after President Muhammadu Buhari was inaugurated into office of the President, the ministerial list has been sent to the Senate for confirmation. Senate President Ahmad Lawan read the list of 43 nominees on the floor of the Senate and he noted that the screening of the nominees will commence on Wednesday. The ministerial list has however sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media with #MinisterialList #TheList dominating trend. Some social media users opined that they were not impressed by the names on the list noting that the same old faces make up the list. Others expressed disapproval noting that the list has more of politicians than technocrats or young Nigerians.
